Thomas waited for his target in full cover. The perfect predator, he moved unseen and unheard. The woman below had no idea she was even being followed.
Since leaving his guild, Thomas had become an assassin. His abilities more than qualified him for the job. There were no questions asked, Thomas was handed an envelope with a picture of the target, a basic schedule, and any other information considered important. Every now and then a special request was thrown in as well, but that cost extra. She was not one of the special targets. As long as she was killed it didn't matter.
With great agility Thomas made his way down the building and into her apartment. The lock clicked, the door creaked open. In the bedroom he waited. She flicked the light on and threw her keys on the nightstand beside her bed. Before she could turn around Thomas had his gloved hand over her mouth, pressing her up against the wall. Great fear was in the woman's eyes. Quick and silent a blade ran across her throat.
As she gasped her last breaths, Thomas left in the window he came. Day as breaking and Thomas needed somewhere to think before picking up his payment. He dropped off his suit at home, then headed to the park.
Cold morning dew covered the bench, but Thomas didn't mind. Brilliant orange and red shot across the sky like something you'd see in famous artwork. Alone he sat, watching the sun rise.

It was a dark dreary night for Victoria Black. For once in her life she was free without any jobs that need to be taken care of. Maybe for once she can actually be a real super hero and try to save someone's life. Dressed in a black leather halter top, black leather pants, some black boots, and her knives strapped to her belt and her 2 daggers strapped to her legs, she was casually crouched on the roof top of some building scanning the area. With her assassin's training she can see and hear things better than most normal humans. It was then something caught her eye.
"Well what do we got here."
She said looking at a building across the street. What Victoria saw through the window was horrifying. Someone killed this woman in her own bedroom. Victoria looked the man very closely and made sure to keep his appearance in her head. After the man left Victoria sighed.
"Poor woman didn't even stand a chance..."
She said to herself before jumping off the building and ran off following the man closely. This was a job Victoria wanted to handle. The day was dawning and she needed to work fast. The man appeared to be heading to the park and sat down. Victoria contorted her body down behind a tree and looked the man up and down. The black haired assassin proceeded to pull off one of her throwing knives from her belt and aimed it at the man's foot. It'd hinder his movement incredibly and would be near impossible to have the kind of agility an assassin would normally have. Victoria thrown the knife with deadly accuracy.

As the knife left Victoria's fingers it glinted in the light. It flew into Thomas' foot and stuck into the ground. Thomas looked at his foot, then the direction from which it came. There was no blood or mark on his shoe. He stood up, still looking at the tree. As he walked down the path the knife was left behind.
"Is there a problem?" he asked. Thomas hadn't seen who threw the knife. It really didn't matter either. He was tired, and not in the mood for a fight.
"I'm just trying to relax here. What was the knife for?"

Victoria seen the man start to move and she was quick on her feet slowly circling around the tree. This was her style. Keeping herself concealed and to be as swift as possible. She smile when he asked what that was for. It amused her how he seemed to not have a single idea why someone would attack him. Slowly she pulled one of her daggers off of her legs. As the man came closer to her she moved farther and farther away until Victoria was behind the man. With her dagger in hand she swiftly runs behind him and tries to run her dagger across his cheek.
"Word of advice. The next time you kill someone perhaps you should close the curtains."
Victoria said letting the man know her reason. The knife attack she just did was a just a message compared to the tactics she can use.

"Stop trying to touch me," Thomas said as he phased through her. "It was a job, and there was no request for it to be done in private. That just makes for an easier getaway. Did you know her or something?"
Thomas stood behind her now. He made no threatening advances. This woman wasn't a target, so Thomas wouldn't kill her. But she didn't have to know that.
"It was nothing personal. And what is the justification of you killing me for another murder?"

Victoria was surprised that her attack phased through him. Was this guy a ghost or something?
"And what was the justification of you killing that innocent woman? To help some guy get an insurance bonus?"
Victoria said as she turned her head completely around facing him. She smiled at him amusingly.
"And I assassinate the likes of you. Unlike you I kill for good. Not for the money. You give assassins like me a bad name."
Victoria said reaching down and unsheathing her second dagger from her other leg.

"I never said it was for the money...I don't get a choice in who I kill either. I get the contract and that's it. I don't want to know anything about them because it makes it so much harder to kill them."
Thomas knew he couldn't justify his actions. He had always just tried to pretend whoever the target was had done something worth dying for. But that little voice always said "They can't all be bad."
"Stop with the knives. They won't work on me."

Victoria listened to him and nodded her head. She slowly lowered her knives and approached the man.
"Who is it you work for then?"
Instead of fighting perhaps she can help this man. Maybe she can help him out. Victoria after all is a hero.
"I can accept that I can't hurt you. And since you've given me an understanding of your predicament maybe I can help you out. Provide me a couple of names and I can take care of them for you."
Which is something she can easily do. Maybe the two assassins could team up with each other.

"Take care of my employers? You mean kill them?" Thomas asked with little surprise. "If only it were that easy. I've never met the top man directly. He, or she, always works through a system. 'Agents' are sent out looking for talent. If one is accepted, they give you the contracts and payment. With enough work I'm sure we could track the top gun down...but karma has it's ways of getting around."
Thomas had never been one for a grudge. What happened, happened. That was it.

Victoria listened to the man and nodded her head. She now wanted to take this agency down herself. Victoria turned the rest of her body around and sat down on the bench he was sitting on.
"You can't let this agency own you. You aren't a part of the solution. You are only making this city's problems worse. With my help we can take these people down ourselves. Oh and as far as karma goes... I think it will be them getting the karma, not us."
She felt kind of bad for the man who was caught up with this agency. Call Victoria a daredevil or whatever but she's always one for bringing the fight to people like the ones who think they own this man.
"From one assassin to another... What do you say?"

"I've only been working for them a short time. I've heard rumors that they plan on moving me up soon though. That'll make me an Agent, connecting me to more people. I'll get bigger contracts, and with those I'll be moved up more. We shouldn't rush this. From one assassin to another, you should know this type of organization. You push too quickly and they'll just disappear. These people are true professionals, and won't go down easy."

Victoria sat there and listened nodding her head. He was right. They shouldn't go in because that would be too reckless.
"Yes I know what you mean. It should be more of an inside job. Get some names and work from there."
This was the safest bet to taking this organization down. Taking them down from the inside out. It was then that Victoria noticed a very strange looking man with what appeared to be blood dripping from his coat.
"What in the hell?"
Was all she said before turning to Thomas.
"Am I the only person who thinks that looks suspicious?"
She said brushing some of her black hair out of her face.

Thomas stared intently at the painted man, puzzled. It was quite clear he was dangerous. Just how dangerous he was, however, was a mystery. The man could be some regular psycho, or a super-powered mutant around here. Thomas didn't worry. Him and the other woman were trained assassins, and he was "gifted."
For a long while Thomas just stared at the bloody man. Waiting for some sort of movement, or an understandable phrase. The man just mumbled to himself.
